In Listening to SALT Beyoğlu, we installed contact microphones in various locations of the building, recording the resonances of different architectural elements in the building over the course of two days: one when the institution was open to the public and one when the institution was closed. The infrastructures of the building, the staff, and the public—both inside and outside of the building—were thus indirectly recorded. We created a composition from these recordings and to further the feeling of meandering along these elements, both temporally and spatially, one channel was split away from the other four and was installed at Forum [foyer at the entrance to the building from the street].
