I had been working with a group of artists as the Fog collective to produce an exhibition in Berlin with Apartment Project in July 2016. In the middle of the month, a failed coup took place in Turkey. When the collective was invited to the Project Space Festival, I used the meandering quality of the festival to do a ten-minute work in which I discussed images from the failed coup, launching my investigation of paradigm shifts within and through images of landmark historic ruptures including the closure of the two Bosphorus bridges by the military.
