The artist walks from home to work in seventeen minutes. The artist employs this time to think and to relax—two necessary components of her—actually, all—production. The artist has structured this lecture-performance to mimic this seventeen minutes—a part of her daily routine—to situate her practice. Tracing the contours of what constitutes a profession or any self-definition that we claim, really, is a matter of what we deem as that thing.
